What Lies Beneath

Sometimes the art of giving is laden with unintended attachments.

What Lies Beneath belongs to the following groups:

"Poetry and Beautiful Women" and Live, Love, Dream:

We all have a surface – a face we wear every day. What lies beneath that surface is only rarely exposed. How do we truly know another, whether it be a dear friend or a lover, and at what point do we let trust take the wheel of the ship we sail on? It is a risk, a whole hearted toss of all common sense at times, to release what lies beneath with full abandon to another person. And sometimes what we are willing to give so easily is even a surprise to ourselves. We expect so much in return when we let this happen. We make assumptions that those we give so honestly to feels equally as bare, free & alive as we do. Is this what it means to live, love & dream?

I’ve recently experienced this kind of rare freedom, and as much as I feel foolish and lost for letting my guard down, I do ultimately feel I have learned a little something from it. I hate to say that I will cherish this experience considering how much inner pain it has and continues to cause me, but if time heals all wounds, then hopefully nothing more than a small scar will remain to remind me that I am human, that I am faulty, and that I am a survivor. It is what lies beneath the face I wear today, and for many more days to come.

A beautiful and thoughtful exploration of ourselves and our humanness. Who among us has not given or explored freely and innocently and joyfully … only to question and regret later. You’re so right, sweetie … we’re SOOOOO human. And those of us who do take the time to stop and look back and consider our actions’ causes and consequences are those of us who grow … it’s call progress. Those who do not … are doomed. Celebrate!!!! You are one with the universe … you are one with us all!!!!!

Words written in deep reflection…I sure hope I have grown from letting my guard down and wearing my heart on my sleeve, to expose myself to be wounded….for these things are what makes us mature and become wiser…but not so much that we would not risk it all again….just a bit more cautiously…again to be guarded…:^)...take no regrets…for this is what has shaped who you are….always to grow…to become a better person…human. When one reaches to the person who feels just as alive, then those moments in time blend….into a beautiful life…the dream…sometimes times, awaken by the light of day….and thus the search continues….life’s circle.

For me there are basically 2 types of people….and regardless of the superficial the difference is easy to be seen…even without face to face contact. There are those who reside predominately in their personality…and those that are predominately in their soul. You can manufacture a personality but u cant hide an emerging soul….

Love the sentiment “that I am human, that I am faulty, and that I am a survivor”. Your writing resonates beautifully, and absolutely captures what it is to “live, love & dream”. Congratulations!
