Memories of the Vogue
This is the old Vogue theatre located in Chatham, New Brunswick. I think it closed down in 1998. I loved going to watch movies here, it was a very small one room theatre with uncomfortable seats and sticky floors..but it held lots of fond memories for lots of people throughout the years. The tickets were only like $2 and you could buy a large popcorn and soda for $4. Shortly after this theatre closed down, Miramichi built a huge Studio 5 Cinema with I think 8 theatres in it with the tickets costing $10 per adult and another $10 for popcorn!

Thanks rose! I’ve just been reading up on the Vogue, I guess the first one opened in San Fransisco in the year 1910. I can’t believe they would close down such a historical place!!

Thanks Ellen! Yes, I had lots of fun there as a child! I even remember when everyone had food fights before the movies started, haha..people would often go home with popcorn and gummy worms in their hair!! ;D

Cool work.
I seen 2 old theaters this past week and never stopped to photograph them. Seeing yours, next time I will have to give a go at them.
Siamkatze replied
Thanks so much LocustF. ...it’s such a shame that these small old theatres are closed down to make room for big chain theatres that cost 5x the amount!
