A3, oil pastels and graphite…..for my sister……birds never look sad..just a thought…..but they have regal look…i tried to portray that look…

yes …regal look all together this has … beautiful :)
There looks like there is quite a bond between these two Shylie :) I could read heaps of interpretation into this…from my perspective of course. The aqua bars represent a barrier. We put up our own self-made barriers, sometimes without realising. I once read a short story somewhere about a bird that was removed from a cage…it had the opportunity to fly free, but had been caged for so long that it chose to stay on its perch. Perhaps in its mind it DID have the freedom and the physical freedom was of only secondary importance?I’ve done my analysis now Shylie, I will shut up and just say, always a pleasure to view your work ~ Anni oxo
thanks for a great analysis….yes my bird lives in a cage, however i never draw he/him as being in the cage…..i will think about that too….bye for now and thanks

Beautiful work Shylie! Very regal! Colors are gorgeous!
Shylie, really nice piece. The figure reminds me of my friend Noredin Morgan’s work. He is African and his culture always pervades his work. Interesting juxtaposition of the figure and the bird.
thanks….will check out Noredin….thanks for support,,,,bye for now
My interpretation — the bird is wondering why the person does not understand him. Great piece, really attractive and it grabs everyone’s imagination!
fair comment…i agree the bird gets it!!! bye for now!!
But of course the person can’t think like a bird.
love this piece..well done.
Brilliant! Great choice of colours.
Wonderful, wonderful! As always!
