Games On My Mind
This is me. Not my facial profile, but the idea. I make games for a living, and I play games all the time. It seems to me that my head is constantly filled with all things games related…. argh!

Ohhh thanks for putting this up. I love it!!! Hahaha, i love the console shaped brain.
shygrrrl
LOL, I’m pretty sure that is a precise replica of my brain at the moment.

IS just great, the combination of the modern game culture but illustrated in such a richly hand made and earthly texture artwork =D Looking forward to your next instalment ‘grin’

Keep them coming shygrrrl. Forget work its not as much fun as your art!!!
FireRabbit
Your work is beautiful! Love your stuff!
shygrrrl
LOL, thanks Zee. I am rediscovering just how fun art is. I haven’t played games at all since I discovered RB. A new addiction maybe?
Thanks everyone for your kind words :)

love your profile pic/brilliant

Great image!
Rebecca May
Says so much…deep and yet playful…awesome work:-)
shygrrrl
Aw thanks guys. I’m really loving this style of work. Just finding time around my day job is hard. I’ll continue with the series soon :)
Stephen Mitchell
I like this piece. I can imagine your art printed on a shoulder-bag, or maybe as the iimprinted into the surface of a coffee-table! It’s distinctly unique. I particularly like the tea-stained background.
Suggestion:
Red, flowers, profile, beige, games and bees can be found all over RB, so this picture might get lost amongst the crowds. So put a whole lot more tags on your work.
For instance,
This will help your work to stand out from others when people search on RB for the art they like. It will also help them appear higher on other search engines!
shygrrrl
Hey, thanks for the advice Stephen, i’ll start adding some more tags asap (i really had no clue what to put on them). I got such a kick out of creating this series, but kind of lost momentum when I got bogged down with work. I’m looking forward to freeing up some extra time soon to continue. I have two more in the series that I am really fond of, but don’t think I can post them because of copyright. One has the Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons, and the other has Betty Page.
Leigh Parkin
was ambling thru your work shygrrrl, what a great piece..respect!
shygrrrl
Thanks Leigh. This was my very first attempt at that particular style of art. I liked it so much it inspired me to create a few more. It’s always nice when someone sees the same things that you do in a piece of work and validate your pride. :)
Bridgett Ferguson
This is genius! Love your style.
Lara Allport
So nice – love it
Elaine van Dyk
No, no, don’t say “argh”.......If this is what comes from your mind being full of games, let it flow!! There is the most beautiful balance of “weights”, as in density/delicacy throughout. It is really a lovely, visually exciting piece of artwork. One of my favourites for sure!
Sandra Vincent
Love the colours and art style.
Damian
Great image, love the contrast between the game brain and everything else in the image :)
shygrrrl
Good lord, i haven’t looked at what’s been going on in ages, and all of a sudden i stumble accross all these lovely comments that somehow I missed. Thanks so much everyone :)
Katie Young
Hey shygrrrl, I love this artwork, it looks almost antique, and in contrast it has references to video games and technology. Very cool. Thank you for your wonderfull comments on my work. My works will be for sale shortly if you want to buy robot vs woman :)
shygrrrl
Keep me posted :)

I remember thinking how much I liked this piece when I first joined RB, can’t believe I didn’t leave a comment. I’m so jealous you work in the games industry, that’s something I’ve always thought about but haven’t pursued… yet. As for the image, like everyone, I love the colours you’ve used as well as how you have overlaid your textures. The Bees flying away from the flower are terrific.

This is beautiful. I actually didn’t even notice the shape of the outline inside the head, but the whole piece has this dirty, yet beautiful, African feel to it that I am personally drawn to. Great work.
