Thanks, John. The truth is he was lost, and I walked up to him and asked if I could take his picture. He let me take two shots, and then we found some water for him and he left.
Really,….Now !I have seen these beautiful birds in the wild,….and everyone I saw was wild,wild,wild.How lucky your were to get a stunning shot like this.Congratulation!!!.
The first photo I ever took was of a wild pheasant in an alfalfa field. I think I was about seven, maybe ten. I remember crawling on my stomach until I got as close as I could and then took the shot just has that gorgeous bird burst into flight. I don’t know what happened to that shot. But really, with this one, it was a hot day, and I just asked him nicely and talked quietly to him the whole time. It doesn’t always work, of course….Oh, and I remembered to say “please”.
