The Bull Run Fire, near Kernville, California, burned more than is 2,400 acres in its first day, according to Forest Service personnel. Officials said flames destroyed six homes and prompted evacuations.
The incident report shows that as of 08/04/10, the fire has burned more than 16,000 acres and is 96 percent contained. The incident report estimates containment date as Tuesday, August 10, 2010.

Everyone I know whose home was on the fire line is safe. The six homes lost were in River Kern.
The fire began moving back into the wilderness.
This shot was taken on Day Two from the top of Cook Peak above our home.
The fire is 100 percent contained.
Final count that I saw in this week’s paper was eight houses burned, but no fatalities.
