Miss Mia’s Chihuahua Message Series
Mia likes to ride with me on my three-wheeled recumbent bicycle. She took time out from her busy schedule to pose for an important bike safety message. Always remember the helmets save lives, and goggles protect your eyes.

“Chihuahua and the Bike Safety Message” was nominated to the Pay It Forward group by my dear friend Rosie (rodeorose).
This is what Rosie said, " I would like to nominate a shot that I keep going back to…one that is so heartwarming, and full of spirit, and always makes me break into a smile…to me it symbolizes courage and the hero many of us would dream of being, or being rescued by, while at the same time showing the innate vulnerability beneath that veneer of bravery in the hero. It says to me we can all find the hero within….ourselves and others around us…."
Thank you Rosie!!!!!
This photo was taken with my Canon EOS Rebel XS near Lake Isabella, California, USA, when Mia and I went out for a bike ride. She enjoyed posing for the camera, and decided to do more safety messages.

:) I Always Wear Ma Shades. How Did You Make The Hat ?
It’s Certainly Different. Recumbent: I’ve Had A Go On One. Very Low Down.
I bought the shades (doggles) and helmet on ebay.
There is a company that has several sizes.
Fortunately my recumbent is a Delta trike (two wheels in back), and it happens not to be quite as low to the ground. But I still have a tall flag to make sure cars see us.

Great angle, needs the bandana just to add that Hells Angel touch. :)
Thank you! Now why didn’t I think of the bandanna?

Love your Mia! I once conjured up a poem about a bike-riding canine. So fun and brillant way to connect a great saftety message with the kids!
Thank you, Jacqueline! Now you simply must post your poem and put a link in a comment here so I can find it if you do. It sounds wonderful. :)

it is indeed a very wise message and a very ahem sensible shot, bike safety for dogs is very important too – i think you should try and get this published more widely :)
Thanks Sarah!
She is a very sensible chihuahua.
Maybe I’ll get some of the posters made up for the teachers at school.
