Happy Holidays and a Sincere I'm Sorry

Happy Holidays to all my friends on RedBubble.
I love the work that you do, and you’ll never know how much it really means to me to see the new works posted and get excited over something a friend has created.

Add to that the beautiful and kind comments left on my work and the features bestowed bu some hosts—well, ther just are not words good enough to show my appreciation.

I also want to apologize for being behind on posting comments to your works.
There are two reasons. First, the internet in this area has been shaky in this area for a few months. So there. have been days when it is down. At the moment, it has been down as long as it has been raining; in other words for days. The last tine it was down for almost a week.

The second reason is a new group we started called R…

Artwork for Sale: Florals Series (for Prints and Cards)

Mini Art Gallery
Florals Series came after some of my other series. I was recovering from an illness, and to trick myself into more exercise, I decided to refurbish my languishing garden. Little by little as I felt better, I increased the size of the plots and the variety of the flowers. Then I started photographing them, so of course I had to plant more types of flowers.

Here are some of my favorites that have received the most attention on Red Bubble.
Many make good cards as well as framed prints.

The Eyes are the Windows of the Wild Horse’s Soul

Unless something is done, the following videos show a sad future for all U.S. wild horses, as well as documenting what happened in Calico and the kinds of things that are happening right now now in Mt. Moriah, Nevada.

August 29, 2010
The videos show the wild-horse round up from the Calico area from Jan. 2010.
Another round-up started in Mt. Moriah, Nevada area two days ago and will continue for another couple days.

Artwork for Sale: Miss Mia's Chihuahua Message Series

Mini Art Gallery
Miss Mia’s Chihuahua Message Series includes a variety of safety messages, as well as at least one very important message. This series will expand as Mia, the chihuahua, pursues other adventures. Mia has taken time from her busy schedule for the “Bike Safety Message”, “Important Message” and for “Keeping an Ear Open for Danger”. She has already undertaken skateboarding and kayaking. Her manager is keeping what’s next under wraps.

Artwork for Sale: My Wild Grass Series

My Wild Grasses Series provides a close up look at the intricate beauty of wild grasses in a range of lightings and seasons.

Grass grains swaying in the sun hold unimaginable majesty when examined close-up. This series was taken with a Canon EOS Rebel XS near Lake Isabella, California.

The grasses have such a short season here.
Yet within each grain lies the seeds of next year’s grasses…the seeds that will carry the grasses forward into time.

Each photo is available as a card, matted print, laminated print, framed print or poster.
Each comes with RedBubble’s guarantees. To see one of the photos large, simply click on it. If you wish, sign the guest book by leaving a comment below before you go. Thank you for visiting!

My Husband is My Hero

My husband doesn’t get nearly the praise he deserves.
Not that he’s looking for praise. He’s pretty humble, really.
He works hard every day, and he cares about the people he tries to help.
He tries to show his kids love, understanding and affection. He tries to teach them values that will help them throughout their lives. Through example, he tries to teach them that material things aren’t as important as important as God and family.
He has a good heart.

He loves me and encourages me. He has stood with me during illness, and I don’t think I would have gotten through without him. He has tried to carry all the extra stresses of suddenly being a one-income family.

For Father’s Day this year, we bought him some parts for a bike he has been building up one pi…

Assignment 1: Making It Shine--Assignment for the Artistic Assignments Group

Title and Link
Chihuahua to the Rescue

Introduction
I wrote this description for an assignment called “Making It Shine” in a group called “Artistic Assignments”. However, maybe some information in here could be useful to someone else. The assignment was to take a photo that wasn’t special and make it shine. I chose an action shot of Mia (my chihuahua) that had an extremely drab background.

Description from the Photo
When life gets to hectic, what’s better than a chihuahua rushing to her human to whisk away the day’s worries with a little kiss, some cuddling, a lot of tail wagging and some enthusiastic “Glad You Are Home” barking.

Card Format of Finished Product

NOTE: If I were to do this again, I would resize the background to full card …

So Much

So much creative, beautiful and moving art and writing exists here.
I enjoy commenting and letting the creators know their work is appreciated,
and I am thankful for the blessings of their labors.

But sometimes I come upon art or writing that takes away my words…freezing me in its stare, and I have to stop looking at other art or writings for a little while because I am stuck on the one that so touched me so, and its processing takes time.

So, if I’m silent, I’m not ignoring anyone.
I’m thinking and feeling.
Words are not enough…yet, far too much.

Will “thank you” suffice?

Thank You for A Great Month 5/30/10 to 07/02/10

Hello friends and colleagues of Red Bubble!

After about a month on Red Bubble, I’ve met so many talented and nice people, seen so much beautiful art and learned a great deal.

I wanted to thank the hosts who have chosen my work some of my work as features, the people who have left so many nice and appreciated comments on photos, and any one who voted for anything of mine in any of the challenges.

Red Bubble is a lot of fun, and it has given me an opportunity to stretch and explore areas of photography I might not have entered.

Here is a list of some of the things I am thankful for from the last month.
(And I’m hoping I get the codes right the first time so I don’t need to worry who sees the mistakes before I can get them fixed.)
