Gypsy (Lambadi) Woman

Gypsy (Lambadi) Woman

The life of Gypsy women allways attracts me and I have painted a series on ‘Lambadi Banjaras’. Lambadi is an ancient wandering tribe of hot plateau of South India. It is said that all the Gypsies of the world have descended from this tribe. Here the purifying fire of the soul of the Gypsi woman is depicted.
