Hi,
I am Shubnum Gill, born in Jamshedpur- the steel city of India. I studied in Delhi and completed my graduation from the Fine Arts Faculty of the Jamia Millia University of Delhi. Worked for few years as illustrator & graphic artist for several magagines and newspapers.
Now I am fully devoted to painting and ‘Oil on Canvas’ is my favourite medium. Sometime I do paint digitally on Fractal Painter & Corel Painter, but allways hand paint & draw, never use readymade special effects.
Anything humane is beautiful for me and subject of my art, but my favourite theme is ‘Joy & Agony of being Woman’. I do paint other subjects also, including portraits, nature & wildlife. The life of Gypsy women allways attracts me and I have painted a series on ‘Banjaras’. I am also a student of Indian classical music & have painted portraits of a few maestros of North Indian classical music.
Several of my paintings are in private collections and in art galleries. Here are some of my work. If you like it you may please visit my website at http://www.shubnumgill.com
