Incoming Storm, Long Lake
Photo Taken at Little Lakes Valley, Eastern Sierras, California.
When I started planning this trip I knew the road to this trailhead was open but I didn’t know how far I could get on the trail before snow became a problem. This was as far as I made it and from here on it was all snow. I had already hiked 4 miles in and wasn’t planning on trudging through wet snow.
Just as I turned around to head back the storm unleashed some snow which started out light and fun but just as I got back to the trailhead it really started coming down. It made for a beautiful hike though. I am always still amazed that in the High Sierras it is still late winter in June.

Of all the places I have hiked, I would have to say that this trail is where I have spent the most time. It is amazing how it can look different each June, sometimes snow and sometimes hot and misquitos. Yoy captured the feeling of the trail.
