Painting Previews

Recently being inspired by a conversation with one of my artist heroes over the internet, I have been furiously painting. Since last Thursday (15th May), I have painted 6 paintings, 5 of which are acrylics and 1, a digital oil painting ( In the Deep Grass). These are busy times indeed…

Because the 5 acrylic paintings are on various sized canvas’s and boards, I haven’t managed to get them into my computer and make them available for print. 1 I have, but the others will have to photographed, which may yet be a while.

But… I have taken some rough (and I mean rough and blurry photos) of my recent pieces and a few older ones on my phone camera. I would like to share them here so that you can see my journey into the tradtional arena.

Alot of these pieces are part of a new series I am doing named: Find Your Own Meaning. I am interested what people will get from these pieces, what meanings they can draw from them and how they affect you. (Please let me know)

The Emerald Forest (v3)
This piece will never be made into a print and has been sold to a private collector. This was the first canvas painting I had ever done and was complete about a month or 2 ago.

Cool. The Emerald Forest is so mystical. Love the fog, tall trees and shadows. Great lighting. Are you refering to Chet Zar again? (Hope I spelled it right). If so, how did you ever connect with him? That would be awsome. I could see how that would be inspiring. Changes is cool and creepy. The background really adds to it. It reminds me a little of the creature at the end of X-files, or is it Lost. Untitled #2 is interesting. quite different. Disgustipated Articulation is good as well. Like tthe burnt lighting effect. The word that comes to mind for #4 is atmospheric. The harsh light and shadow draw your attention. It makes me think of how reading books made me feel when I was growing up – if that even makes sense. I guess I mean like somethng in my imagination.
