Lost in some place between fantasy and reality, alone and confused, he feels different from others. Amongst the indecision of his world, the one thing he does understand is that it is governed by his own doubt and hesitation.
His arms bear the weight of his indecision; the quest for balance. The rocks he holds are a constant distraction that prevent him from achieving his ideals. His self-doubt demands some sense of clarity but he has come to the understanding that he may never really find the answers that he seeks.
Immersed and distracted by his surroundings, he realises that if correct balance is within his grasp, there will always be other rocks to replace those which he holds.
As much as he yearns to, the weight that he bears ensures that he will never fly away upon the wings fashioned from his imagination. His idealistic world has collided with reality and so here he stands…
weak and forlorn,
unsure of who or what he is,
what to think or feel,
what is perception and what is reality.
Inspired by many things, one being Todd’s Poem from Dead Poets Society In his quest for truth and for having the courage to face his sweaty toothed madman.
