A Fighters Faith by Matt Bottos

For me, boxing is a reflection on how we handle ourselves in everyday life. A fighter can only advance by scoring points if he has faith in himself. At any point when a boxer attacks he leaves himself open to a counter-attack. He can stand with a rock solid defense and be safe or he can attack and risk an opening for a counter attack.
As in the ring, we must have faith, take a risk, trust our training/instinct and believe in ourselves.

Powerful, intense… did you lighten this up? is this the same shot as before… Great shot and set up!

  • Thanks Jeff, This is a different shot to the other. I removed the other one as it was too similar to this one. I think this has more of a “street” vibe to it (jeans instead of the boxing shorts)

Fantastic image and wonderfully creative words. The only thing I would question is the ko. I think so many of us in life have been conditioned to think about results and winning. To me winning in boxing or anything else is just being the best you can be and also enjoying the relationship.

  • Thanks Tony! In regards to the KO, I guess it depends on how you see the analogy. It could be something as simple as being successful which doesn’t necessarily mean ‘winning’. I’ve seen guys get knocked about for a few rounds but still stand their ground. It’s always good to see these guys get a pat on the back afterwards. In a positive environment they still come out feeling like champs!
