A DROP IN THE OCEAN 2

Best viewed Large

Another macro shot of a single water droplet just before it hits the water surface. So many people ask me how this is done and it is very simple.. The main key is timing. This image was taken with just the camera. No adjustements other than a slight crop. Shot in Auto, with Macro…............

I love this Rob! Such a crisp drop and it even has a shadow!
I need to practice mine but never have enough time :)

This is stunningly beautiful, Rob. The “simplicity” of this shot makes it wonderful. What’s simple for one person is often difficult for another, unfortunately!

  • Rob Toombs replied 27 days ago

Aww thanks Clarkey.. That means a lot but honestly, it is not a difficult shot to capture… Just a matter of patients and timming… HONEST :)

Lol, patience is something I do not have much of! And my timing is usually pretty lousy but, thanks for the assertion, I’ll try it soon and see what happens. Do you use (food) colouring in the water in the sink to give you these wonderful colours?

  • Rob Toombs replied 27 days ago

Can’t wait… Not at all Clarkey.. I tend to use filters on my lens.. This one was taken with a darker blue filter..The same one i used for my original Drop in the ocean image..

Wow shot in auto – I might have to try that, may solve my focus issues lol. Fabulous photo

  • Rob Toombs replied 7 days ago

THanks Kymie… There is other ways to help with the focusing issue but if you get the light right, then you can create a nice image from Auto… Thanks for the lovely comment… :)
