Taken while on an Urban Wildlife expedition with Nic Relton, I deviated from the script somewhat and grabbed this shot of the lady feeding pigeons. It looked a good candidate for B & W treatment, so I practised my darkroom skills using Silver Efex Pro.
Technical Details:
Camera: Nikon D3 Lens: Nikkor 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6 Focal Length: 340mm ISO: 200 Exposure: 1/125 sec at f/8 Post Processing: Photoshop CS3 and Silver Efex Pro
Thanks Nic, I like it, so does Denise – she thought it was something I had found on the Internet that was taken by a famous photographer! It looks good “blown up”. Time will tell.
wow – this is stunning. Not just the shot of the woman surrounded by blurred wings ( I wonder what she was thinking), but the lines all over the photo in the bench, the shadows, the walkway, – fabulosity indeed!
Thank you very much Jeanette. Your in depth comment is really appreciated! :-))

Excellent John – B&W certainly lends itself to this shot, and those birds in flight add to the story this image tells …
Thanks Rosalie. I used Nik Silver Efex Pro to process the B&W. This can replicate many of the old B&W film types rather than just removing the colour.

Thank you Jan, where there are pigeons there are opportunities for luck!
