Hell I wish I could do portraits like this

  • John Hooton replied

You probably could if you applied the same care and attention that you do with your landscapes. :-))

Stunning portrait and the lighting is great too. What did you use 45 degree umbrella to the left fill in plus gold reflector? maybe I should not ask.

Just interested. I am always trying to guess the light source, time of day (well not in studio set ups…lol) . Camera settings are more difficult to guess, if I don’t know the ISO and you can’t guess, as Digital can have a very high ISO without the grain. Sometimes I get it right….lol

  • John Hooton replied

Hi CJ, the brolly is practically over my head, slightly to the left, as close as I can get it to the camera. No fill in, there was enough light bouncing around the room for that.

Finally I used this to apply the professional retouching techniques.

  • John Hooton replied

You don’t need my camera but the light would help. A gale and hedge is a quick shortcut to try the hair style! :-))

Yup, she is very good and a pleasure to work with. She was on TV on Saturday, as a backing singer for a guy called Leon Jackson who won last year’s UK X-Factor.
