  • John Hooton replied

I think it is still the most graceful aircraft ever flown. Thanks for commenting Steve.

Excellently focused aeroplane and taken against the wonderful sky – spitfires are so dramamtic – Ted

  • John Hooton replied

I had a little bit of help from CS3 for the sky, but I think she deserves it. Thanks for the comment Ted.

  • John Hooton replied

Yes, 68 years old and still got her looks! I agree, the sound of that engine is truly emotional. :-))

Beautiful, image, John. Another WWII Classic!!

  • John Hooton replied

Thanks John. These air shows are a bit like a sortie – if you come back with a couple of decent shots from a lot of ‘bullets’, you have done really well!

You hit the nail directly on the head, my friend. I took over three-hundred photos at this years air show. Of those I may keep less than fifty. You have to love digital. I could never afford to do that with film. And as far as the old gal being 68 years old…I hope I look that good at 68 LOL!

Instant fave John! This is a beautiful shot with the colours in that sky and the way the light reflects off the top of the Spitfire. It looks like it could be a poster from a war movie. Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous… I quite like it :o)

  • John Hooton replied

Thanks Akkra. The reflected light needs to be ‘pinked up’ a bit. When I get a little more experienced in PS I’ll have a go!
