Socialite Elizabeth Hooley

Socialite and model Elizabeth Hooley. One of my shots showing my style during the 60’s. I have left the banner on in the hopes that this may be considered as a poster. Now it would hardly make a poster without some sort of blurb at the bottom would it!?

  • starfield

    starfield

Great! This reminds me so much of the classic Brigitte Bardot shots! Women with clean skin, no tattoos, no piercings – those were the days… (sigh)

  • John Hooton replied

I think you have nailed it in one. Women were women, men were grateful, and tights hadn’t been invented!

  • ADMarshall

    ADMarshall

Just like bardot – great shot.

  • John Hooton replied

Very often when girls arrived at the studio for head shots, their hair was a victim of the wind and rain. The only answer was to exploit the look by exaggeration. There were no on set hair stylists!

    Thanks AD

    Caroline Gorka

  • Shannon Byous Ruddy

    Shannon Byous ...

    Beautiful!! I love the lighting.

  • John Hooton replied

Thank you Shannon. The trick is to have a black painted studio. It is then much easier to add light as you want it, rather than having it bounce all round the place trying to get rid of it.

  • Karen Cougan

    Karen Cougan

    Simon Whittaker

Its been said before all above me, so my contribution is “superb”. A fav for me.

  • John Hooton replied

Thank you Simon. I only considered this picture moderate at the time, maybe because we were all surrounded by this make up style in the ‘60s. It seems more appreciated now than it was then – maybe we treasure our youth more!
