Socialite Elizabeth Hooley
Socialite and model Elizabeth Hooley. One of my shots showing my style during the 60’s. I have left the banner on in the hopes that this may be considered as a poster. Now it would hardly make a poster without some sort of blurb at the bottom would it!?

Hi John..this is a splendid poster and if it was cropped at the shoulder it would make a stunning portrait of beautiful Liz

John, this is magnificent! The tones are so good, and pose awesome! I hope it is sold as a poster, it deserves it!.. :) xx
John Hooton replied
Thanks Elaine. I did this for a T-Shirt some time ago. It draws stares so I guess it works LOL!

John Hooton replied
Yup, I shot virtually only B/W in those days.

Great! This reminds me so much of the classic Brigitte Bardot shots! Women with clean skin, no tattoos, no piercings – those were the days… (sigh)
John Hooton replied
I think you have nailed it in one. Women were women, men were grateful, and tights hadn’t been invented!
ADMarshall
Just like bardot – great shot.
John Hooton replied
Very often when girls arrived at the studio for head shots, their hair was a victim of the wind and rain. The only answer was to exploit the look by exaggeration. There were no on set hair stylists!
Thanks AD
Caroline Gorka
It would make a great poster…well done!
John Hooton replied
Thanks Caroline, it also makes quite a good T-Shirt!
Larry Varley

Thanks 50mm, that’s a really great compliment. :-))
LjMaxx
One word… Fantastic! Your portrait work is terrific John.. Your niche indeed…
John Hooton replied
Thank you LJ, I must say I think I get more kicks from a decent head shot than anything else. :-))
Terry Mooney
fantastic shot John.
John Hooton replied
Thank you Terry, I think this is the most popular picture I have ever taken and that was a long time ago!
Shannon Byous ...
Beautiful!! I love the lighting.
John Hooton replied
Thank you Shannon. The trick is to have a black painted studio. It is then much easier to add light as you want it, rather than having it bounce all round the place trying to get rid of it.
Karen Cougan
love this John
xkc
John Hooton replied
Thanks Karen, the appeal of this shot has lasted well!
PPPhotoArt

John Hooton replied

deannedaffy
The shadows and light in this capture is just gorgeous.
John Hooton replied
Thanks Deannedaffy. It was taken in a studio where the walls were painted black. Always my preference as opposed to the usual white studio.

John Hooton replied
Thank you Ming. Your own work strongly expresses movement and emotion with an amazing economy.
Simon Whittaker
Its been said before all above me, so my contribution is “superb”. A fav for me.
John Hooton replied
Thank you Simon. I only considered this picture moderate at the time, maybe because we were all surrounded by this make up style in the ‘60s. It seems more appreciated now than it was then – maybe we treasure our youth more!
eran gilad

John Hooton replied
