This is the small village of Quillan, in the South of France, with the fast -flowing River Aude, now resurrected as a thriving centre for water sports at world class level. Quillan is in the Aude, one of the five departments of the Languedoc Roussillon region. It lies roughly mid-way between Carcassonne and Perpignan on the D118 road. To the left, roughly seven kilometres away, lies the even smaller village of Campagne sur Aude.
