This is a Malawian Mum painted in Pastels on Black Colourfix paper. was sold the minute I put it on my web site.
The lady who took the photo started a mission called Mwana Mission meaning a Child of God. She Jan gave me permission to paint from her photo she says the Malawian Mothers name is Messouzi meaning tears- in this case it is more like Happy Mum.
The buyer of this painitng lives in the UK and Jan lives in USA they have discovered through this painitng that they played together in Malawi as kids.

I really love ‘mother and child’ portraits. I was brought up in a single parent family myself/with no siblings. :-)
