Woke up this morning
wanting to be outdoors
so I picked a place
in the mountains to go
A sweet little trail
marked very well
I didn’t know
it would be such hell!
The sign said 2.3 miles
I looked at that and smiled
I can do this
nothing to it
let’s go into the wild
Weather so warm
a slight breeze to cool….
The scenary was awesome
things I didn’t know existed
camera at the ready
the wild life the landscapes
the incredible vistas
A wild bird chased me
I was too close to her nest
next thing I knew
I was wearing that mountain
on my chest
Fleaing the mad bird
I slipped and fell
slid down rock & mud
and some snow, ah hell
ripped my jeans
sprained a foot
the hip went out
there is a stain from the dirt
Crippled and wounded
[somewhat pissed]
I regained my composure
and grabbed my walking stick
With a definate limp
and a very slow gait
descended the trail
I need Advil !!
cant wait!
Telling this story
to a friend she replied
you nut was it worth it
will you do it again
some time
Well its all I can
think of to tell the truth
I will go back often
conquer that tiny part of earth
nothing can really stop us
if we want it badly enough
the muscles pain and ache
but not that much
tomorrow is another day
just wait it will be
and the photos will be posted
for everyone to see~

dear, dear shilohlin…...you are blessed to have made such a hike with no water…thankfully it was not hot…. :
) what an adventure!!! looking forward to the pics!!! :)shilohlin replied
I certainly like dear dear shiloh
a lot more than you nutbag what were you thinking LOL But I get the point. It was extremely foolish to hike with no water and equally stupid to do it alone. Yes I was lucky and in light of all the related teachings I grew up with it is a blessing the way it turned out.
