“Heavenly Gifts” Watercolor completed July 25 2011.There is a special story with this one.It is about the feather which is real.I was talking with a lady at show.As we talked this feather floated down slowly between us and landed in my hand.We both looked at each other and smiled. We were thinking the same thing. A feather from heaven. She said that I had to do a painting with it.I struggled all year until my Dad found this nest in my climbing rose.I knew this was where it was to go.I believe!

I am returning to my roots after years of working in the corporate world. I have been working with watercolors for the past 4 years after too many years away from my paints. I hated watercolors when I was in school but love them now. I guess I had no patience in my youth. Ha. Currently residing in Northern California, USA. Enjoy!

Reading your little story to go with this gave me goosebumps! Fantastic work! I love it!

  • Oh Dianne, I am so happy you were able to see it. This really was special for me. The moment that feather floated was like time had stopped while we gazed at it’s descent. We were speechless. A moment for the all time.Even more amazing is that I was doing a benefit show for one of local churches so what can I say. Amazing moment. Also had no idea that the nest was in my roses. The Robins had abandoned the nest with the beautiful little blue treasure. My Dad was visiting and looking for something to do and found it. It was meant to happen. Long winded aren’t I. So happy you saw it. Sending big happy wishes out your way.

well done Sherry and a featherlight touch painting the egg

  • Thank you Neil! It is so nice of you to comment. That litle egg was rather challenging. I had to really resrain myself from over painting. So happy you liked it!
