Not sure what these things were for, but i can only imagine it was for access to the top of the machines that have been removed from this area since the place closed. I couldnt help but think of aircraft stairs when i saw them though, perhaps brought on by the fact the place we had stayed the night before was directly under a flight path of an airport.

Awesome. They do look like the aircraft stairs. i see water on the floor, is there much damage as in some of your buildings

  • Not too much with this one, piles of scrap and stuff about but not too much in the way of kiddiot or pikey damage.

I like your industrial images. They are pretty desolate looking though.

  • I prefer the industrial stuff as well to asylums etc to be honest, its going to be my goal to try and beef up that side of my portfolio this year :)

yes, congratulations again on making the home page. This shot deserves the attention. I hope it draws many more people to your truly original investigations of deserted and derelict sites. You have a real eye for finding compositions in these places.

  • Thank you very much bearhat, much appreciated :)

    Nice image!
We had stairs just like these in the newspaper press room where I worked.
They were for getting to the top of the press around the back side.

  • Thanks Paul, that kinda confirms it for me then, cheers :)
