This elevator was right near to the main entrance to this, the goods inwards, part of the factory. Im guessing that the clerks who worked in the offices above were just very lazy and could not be bothered to walk up the single floor to their desk.

    Yeah, and the chemicals used in the making of rubber as so very flammable :)
