The painting was constructed on diagonal lines, all leading the eye to the main bull elephant, who stands firm and proud in front of the water hole.
I wanted to convey, the harsh dusty dry land, with the herd of animals having traveled miles in search of water, finaly the male stands in front of the much needed water hole.

I take that as a compliment, I have met David on a few occasions back in the 70’s and it was his work that inspired me with my own style of work, Just wish my work commanded the same prices

I realy don’t want anyone to assume that I try to copy or identify myself with David, simply because I paint elephants, I only paint what inspires me at any given time.
No I have not painted steam engines since I left UK, not a big call fot them in Oz, but maby I should do one just to test the market
