Taken at Caloundra, Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia at dawn with a Canon 60D, Sigma 10-20 lens and Lee grads.
This was a rather eventful morning as shortly after this shot was taken, a freak wave crashed in front of me, spraying a lot of water all over me. I turned away from the wave but ended up with water all over my 60D. I was trying desperately to wipe the water off of my camera with some tissues I had in my pocket and microfibre clothes but everything was soaked! After putting it in a bag of rice when I got home, I took it to Anderson’s camera repairs to get accessed. They ended up having to send it away to Canon who confirmed what I had feared. My 60D was dead :( So, $1400 later, I have a new 60D and good insurance which covers actions of the sea (my other insurance didn’t cover this).
Thankfully my first time using my second hand Sigma 10-20 (a wonderful anniversary present from my partner Jason!) was not my last as the lens still works perfectly :)
