Forbearance

This painting of a Roseate Spoonbill was created after observing this beautiful bird at an injured bird sanctuary in Corpus Christi, TX. While there to heal before release back into the wild, I could not help thinking that this beautiful creature seemed so patient, with such a dignified sense of forebearance. Thus, the name.

Your talent is amazing, Carolyn; we share a love for these exquisite creatures and I can truly feel and see your tenderness toward them in this painting. While observing them, I have noticed an expression on their faces that looks like a gentle smile; they are extra special and I LOVE what you did here to depict the roseate spoonbill, one of my all time favorite birds.

  • Carolyn Staut replied

Thank you Bonnie. We are kindred spirits in the Spoonbill Appreciation Society. Maybe it is time to convince someone to create a Spoonbill Group? That would be awesome!

Just breathtaking!!!!! You are SUCH an inspiration … why do I do anything ANYTHING but continue to try to learn how to do this!!!!! Glorious delicacy with the fronds all around your sweet baby … but it’s the intricacy in the feathers that yanks us right in … then … for the final allure, the detail of the face and ooo that eye!!!!! I’m shaking my head and smiling at this delightful work of art!!!!!

  • Carolyn Staut replied

Such lovely comments Lois and I thank you. I still learn, seems like it is never-ending! I guess that is part of the challenge.
