A very cool looking portrait Sheila. Great selection of focal length too, I’m guessing around the 300mm range?(: I love the direction the light is coming from also, I think you’ve hit on a perfect balance. All the best.

It was taken with my most favourite portrait lens …the Canon 135 f/2.

One thing that I like about this best is that it reminds me of many paintings and photos of elder men from all sorts of cultures, down through the ages. In that way, it emphasizes a basic underlying thread to humanity and that is lovely.

Also, well, I just have to love his eyes. Cedric looks like a man with a thousand stories locked inside him, someone learned and shrewd, but capable of kindness and humor.

And, strangely enough (to me) I was just thinking about Cedric and trying to come up with reasons to write about or reflect on persons with that name, this morning.

My goodness, I hadn’t realised that Cedric made the Home Page. He is such a character and is very popular with tourists around Circular Quay in Sydney. He plays aboriginal clapsticks.
