Needs
We as a people have lots of needs. The need for a new car. The need for a new home or that new pair of shoes. 99% of the things we think we “need” are not things we really need they are things we want. Think about the little children in the third world countries. The only thing they “need” is food. They know nothing about fancy shoes or clothes. All they “need” is the basic necessities of life. The next time you say “I need that new pair of shoes in the window.” Stop and ask yourself do I need them or want them

True indeed, Sheena. Perhaps the most important “needs” to curb are those that involve the use of energy. How many people need a sports car or a 4×4 truck? How many people could walk or cycle instead of starting up the car? Do we need lights on all around the house? Bit by bit we can reduce how much we contribute to a global prolem.

I know what you mean. With today’s high prices on gas who needs a car that will take you $300.00 to fill up? We CAN do something about getting cars off the streets or we will end up looking like China. They had to ban about a million cars off the streets in an attempt to clean the air for the Olympics.

Very apt words. Sometimes I wonder if many of us in the western world almost are asking for wakeups calls. That we are so unaware of our own essence depth that we need disaster to actually wakeup.

I think we as a people have just gotten to a place were we think we are the most important thing there is and we are not.
