I WALKED WITH THE QUEEN
I couldn’t believe it I was talking to the Queen and I was covered in dirt

You're Standing In it...., Australian Bush ☼ (aspects of realistic Landscapes - ie N0 Abstracts or Macros please!), Australian Travel Photography and Writing - 1 per 24hrs, Boredom Competitions on the 24/7, Everyday Life, Freedom In Words & Art, Freedom to Shine, Humour Captured, If it doesn't belong, MAJOR EVENT , Prize Challenges!!, Remember When, Short stories - Spherical Scriptings, Something To Say, South Australian Artists, The Adelaide Hills, This is England, Travel and Adventure and Twisted TalesOne Sunday my family decided to have a B.B.Q in the Adelaide hills, we were even going to do a bit of prospecting, so I packed my metal detector and my folding shovel and pick. My grandmother told me we were going to have royal sausages, rather puzzled I asked her what she ment ?. She told me that the place where she always buys her meat had the order to make special sausages for the Queens visit that weekend, as the government were going to have a B.B.Q in her honour. My grandmother told her butcher if they were OK for the Queen then they are OK for her and she bought some. The Sunday came and we drove up into the hills, I was in my Sunday best holy jeans and a tank top, all ready to dig and find my fortune. My parents and grandmother started the B.B.Q, while the rest of us, my uncle ,aunties and myself went for a walk and a dig. Mymetal detector started to beep, so I started to dig and the rest of my family didn’t stop they went on walking. After a while and covered in dirt with no fortune I went on only to find no family in any direction.
Next thing I hear a lady’s voice asking me am I having a nice day. I move a little as the sun was in my eyes and I was in shock it was the Queen talking to me in the bush and me in my Sunday best. She was walking with a group of about 20 people, some were body guards and other people she was staying with for the B.B.Q. I figured they must know the way out, so I asked the guys at the back could I join their group as my family went off without me and I didn’t know the way out. They laughed and said fine but I had to give them the metal detector and shovel. That’s OK but just remember if you find anything it’s mine !!!!. so off we walked for 20mins. We then came across my family. They saw the Queen said Hi ! and then took off to tell my parents and grandmother that they had seen the Queen. I thanked the body guards and followed my family out of the bush. When my uncles and aunties finished saying how they saw the Queen, I told them that’s nothing I just spent 20mins. walking with her and her party through the Australian bush. Then my grandmother aded my goodness she wants her sausages.
I sent the Queen a copy of this story and I recieved a letter saying thank you and she enjoied reading it very much.
