bad booking…

Many thanks to Persimmon for appropriately commenting that this pic is weird and asking essentially, “What gives?” Not a complicated story, but one that in the end speaks volumes about human nature and reinforces Jung’s argument about the power of the collective unconscious.

In short, this soloist set up in back of the lighthouse in Nova Scotia, opened her case for tips and started to play. Almost at once and with the seamless, unhurried grace of an amoeba under heated glass, the crowd did what prudent crowds do when faced with most accordion concerts – they moved away, receding like the tide in the Bay of Fundy, all but one intrepid photographer with a dream….

    write, write, write!!!...more, more, more

not sure about the Jungian collective unconscious here…maybe, perhaps, herd mentality?? or even (as you have so eloquently suggested) harking way back to primitive amoebic reactions???? well, I guess, say all those and then you may as well throw in a bit of collective unconscious for good measure! thanks for the link.
