You caugth the EYE which is the most difficult! In africa they are nocturnal therefore difficult to spot, I presume it will be the same there – therefore an even more difficult shot to get!! Well done!

Thanks Carisma. In Australia echidnas will be active day or night depending on the temperature. This was taken on a cold day and this one was actually photographed around midday. I’ve been fortunate to have seen a lot of them. They are one of my favourite animals

Good shot, they are very shy where we live, you have to be very patient to get a head in the shot as they just burrow until they think it is all clear.
