Jerilderie Visit

Hi all, well I had a great day at Jerilderie on Saturday. Jerilderie was celebrating it’s history by commemorating the Ned Kelly’s Gang1879 raid. Where they took over the Police Station and robbed the bank. This is where Ned Kelly tried to publish his letter (now named The Jerilderie Letter). There are still some of the original buildings standing. There was a street parade, markets, music and car shows to name a few things.I took over 400 pics ( thank goodness for digital),lol. They were supposed to have a re-enactment of the event, but decided to try something different this time. I was NOT amused, lol. The re-enactment was what I wanted to see most. In its place was a sort of play, with a woman acting as the Policeman’s wife telling her side of the story accompanied by a man who played the violin, guitar and accordian, she also played the Harp and did some singing. Whilst I was disappointed about the lack of re-enactment the show was rather really good. I took a heap of pics but was sitting right near the back, I zoomed quite a bit and had no tripod and the lighting was low,so the pics didn’t come out as sharp as I would have liked. But we had a great day and now I’ll bore you all with pics of it,lol.
