One Week Till Summer
With only one week to go until Summer, this was certainly a shock. We let the kids have the day off school today and went to Mt Selwyn snow fields. About a two hour drive away. My daughter who is 14 hadn’t seen snow since she was 3 and didn’t remember it, and my 9 year old son had never seen snow before. The kids were so excited. LOL.

I do not like this cold snap & thereby refuse to snap any resemblance of it. But you’ve done well. :)

Jan Stead JEMp...
What a stunning shot Sharon!!!! I know this part of the world so well, as we lived in Tumbarumba for some years and often took the half hour trip up the mountain to Selwyn, and beyond.
This really has been freakish and amazing weather, hasn’t it? Your kids are fortunate indeed that you let them have the day off school to witness this first hand. This time your daughter won’t forget seeing snow!!
And I suspect this will also be a fond childhood memory in years to come for your son as well.
Thank you for also letting us share in it too with your awesome shot. Hope you didn’t get too cool capturing its beauty for us!
Oh, btw, have you thought of ‘Skyscapes”:http://www.redbubble.com/skyscapes ?
: )
SharonD replied
Hello Jan,it’s beautiful countryside from Tumut onwards. We had a great day. It was quite warm, we wore T-shirts.We’re thinking of going back that way just to take photos etc.

When shooing snow scens, allow for extra exposure, if they are too dark then can be lightened byusig gamma correction in any poto editing proramee !
SharonD replied
Thanks a lot Colin. I don’t think I’ve come across that. I’ll have a look. I have Adobe elements 4.

A lovely photo, Sharon. I like the contrast of the snow against the blue, summery sky.
SharonD replied
Hi Jenny, thanks heaps. The blue sky certainly helps. I took some pics facing the other way where the sky was grey and they don’t look half as good.
