Dear Sharon , I have been reading the news , they have been hit badly , my thoughts & prayers continue as they begin to clean up the devastation .I am so relieved that your son-in-laws family are safe x

  • Thankyou so much Lynn ~ Rods family are beautiful people and I am so glad they have survived the typhoon ~ but at the same time, my heart breaks for the extreme loss of life ~ many being children.
And like you ~ my thoughts and prayers continue ~ but my heart just cries ….

Good to know, Sharon – pictures of the devastation were heart-breaking! Supposedly, better preparation has led to a smaller loss of life, still, any loss is a tragedy. Prayers continue. :)george

  • I remember quite clearly George, the devastating images that emerged last year after Mindaneo and more specifically to us at that stage, Iligan City, when tey were all but destroyed by the typhoon that hit then. It was the first time the people of these areas had been hit so fiercely (typhoons are quite rare in that area ~ (I believe due to the close proximity to the sea). My daughter and son in law were living in the Philippines then ~ and it was just heart breaking to have contact with them during the course of the typhoon ~ and as they were living in a totally different area (Luzon) they had no idea (or news) of what was transpiring.
The death toll from that typhoon was in excess (to the best of my recollection) of 1700.

Please forgive if I ramble ~ but having visited the poorest areas of this struggling country ~ and witnessing first hand their “survival” skills (in every sense of the word) I can’t help but want to reach out and do all I can to help ~ and just now, I can do nothing …. but pray!!!
Thankyou so much for your wonderful words ~ and for understanding…. :)

Dear Sharon, after seeing the news of the tempest my heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with all those people whom have lost their beloved families – and my prayers are with you and your family xx

  • I would imagine that as the days pass ~ the death toll will rise ….
How fortunate we are to live in established homes ~ “a safe world” while such tragedy happpens within the lives of those who have so much less. I feel very blessed to have my family back in Australia ~ but my heart breaks for the ~ especially for my son in law ~ as he watches (and prays) from Australia ~ and waits on news of the safety of his direct family….
Thank you so much for your very appreciated comment ~ your thoughts for the people of the Philippines ~ and for your much needed prayers….:o))
