This Image Is In Dedication To The Soldiers Of The ANZAC
Many Of Whom Who So Selflessly Lay Down Their Lives
To Allow Us Freedom Of Country…
In Particular I Remember My Late Father In Law, Who Was Taken
And Held In The Most Extreme Conditions As A Prisoner Of War
He Worked Along Side The Late Sir “Weary” Dunlop As A Medical
Assistant ~ And On The Burma Railway. He Rarely Spoke Of His
His Hellfire Pass Or Internment Experiences ~ The Raw Pain
Remained With Him Until His Passing Just Over 8 Years Ago.
This Image Above Is His Dress Uniform Belt & Box Which Were With Him
At All Times. The Family Are Fortunate To Have In Our Possession Many
Interesting Relics Of His War Time Years – The Most Noteable
Being Some Sort Of Certificate Stating He Had Completed Some “Education” In The POW Camp ~ And A Post Card Indicating How “Well”
He Was Being Cared For By His Captures….
Just As An Aside ~ After His Return Home He Could Never Drink Or Eat
Anything That Was Hot…. And He Remained Plagued By Nightmares
Until The Day He Died….

So To Him ~ And All Who Shared Similar Experiences
I Say Thank you ~ RIP ~ Lest We Forget….

A New Life Begins For Us
With Every Second.
Let Us Go Forward Joyously
To Meet It.
We Must Press On,
Whether We Will Or No,
And We Shall Walk Better
With Our Eyes Before Us
Than With Them Cast Behind.
