a vintage print of Ms. Gloria Swanson I do believe ladies and gents….isn’t she glam?!
this work is dedicated to all of the glamorous ladies of early film, up to the 50’s, that were beautiful, talented, and leaders for women of the 20th century. It was a time when women started to show their true strength, started finding their voices, rejoiced in their feminism and slowly began that uphill climb for equal rights, their right to vote, and all the marvelous things women stood up and stood out in a “man’s” world, and embraced their femininity and each other. It was during these early years women were invading every area of life, career fields, flying around the world and setting records…. I so admire this era of proud, strong women, many of which created a pathway for all women to follow and widen for more and more ladies to join in and be heard, and fight for the right to be powerful in whatever arena she chose. This is for all of them, who inspired then and still inspire today women to use their God-given uniqueness and intelligence to help shape today’s women into the beautiful, smart, barrier breaking, space-exploring, presidents, teachers and leaders they are today… and we’re still striving. I am proud of our women of this era, and proud to be a woman. Stand together in unity ladies, and be heard as one loud voice! We are mothers, we are nurturers, we love with the whole of our spirit. Let us stand together now and help to heal this fractured, wounded earth! Let us use our quiet wisdom to teach others how to love, for love brings healing. Man has been in charge for eternities, and look at what has been wrought upon the earth! It is time for peace, understanding, and time to heal. Wholeheartedly do I believe that the gentle, healing hands of our women, will be the answer, the miracle we have sought, and with the power of love, we will heal each other, ourselves, and our planet. Unite as one in love and strength.
