Fabulous abstract Sophie – I love the feeling of transparent layers of colour like veils of paint over the surface – really excellent work! (the white patch reminds me of a bird taking flight)
Sophie Shapiro in reply to kafka’s comment, 3 months ago
Yes, the white patch is a bird taking flight! I am working on a painting, that’s evolving into a ‘very blue painting’ I can’t stop laughing to myself..to be forearmed, is to be forewarned! When I complete it,I shall let you know! Thank you for your encouraging words! This painting is very special to me! I’m glad you liked it!Sx

I can’t wait to see the very blue painting! – I might have to paint an even more blue than Sophie’s painting......x

this is quite moving Sophie…. i like how your work shows all the complexities of human relationships.. very emotional and expressive… brown, white, green, purple – all such distinctive colours yet they all come together here like a melody…. 8))) and the bird, as though it slowly evolved, gathering all the scattered feathers…. very good!
Sophie Shapiro in reply to Verangel’s comment, 3 months ago
Verangel, this was a very emotional painting for me! It was for my Father who was a wonderful, caring and loving man! I’m so glad you like this painting and that all the colours work in harmony here! I can hear the melody you describe! Thank you for all these wonderful words…they mean more than you’‘ll ever know!Sx

You see we had wonderful family members…they don’t make them like that any more! A few weeks ago a friend of mine gave me a CD with a beautiful song and words devouted to a father, who had died! The first few times I listened to it I cried. She rang to check if I liked the CD a few days later; which I told her I did! But I would never like him back for a few moments, and then to disappear again! That would be too painful, never could I manage that…so I plod along, knowing that he is with me! Taking care, and protecting us. He was a very Spiritual Man! Bless all Father’s!S
Sophie Shapiro in reply to aglaia b’s comment, 3 months ago
Aglaia, he appears frequently in my work! I see him often! Like all the other people I see! They all want to communicate but we don’t listen, or don’t know how to understand them! I’m learning, one day I may understand more! I trust in this wonderful process and continue! Thank you for your wonderful words! They mean more than you know!Sx

Liesbeth thank you for your beautiful words! My father is in Spirit but I feel him around me alot and he appears in my work very often. We have a very strong connections which has not lessened because of his death. A person I think of daily and a very Spiritual man who had a heart of gold but more importantly, shared it with everyone! Thinking of you Liesbeth and my congratulations for being featured on Red Bubble! A well deserved accolade and one I raise my glass to you in celebration! Well done!Sx
