I Bow My Head
If any should force entrance he might see there
One buried yet not dead,
Before whose face I no more bow my head
Or bend my knee there;
But often in my worn life’s autumn weather
I watch there with clear eyes,
And think how it will be in Paradise
When we’re together.

With your words and your art, it feels like I am viewing a majestic visual eulogy….... or a dedication to something far grander and higher than we could hope to realize at this earthly level….
Beautiful art…... such grandeur, royalty, and wealth, yet with inroads of sadness and loss…...

Wendy, when Napoleon Bonaparte went to Egypt he spent time alone in the King’s Chamber of the Great Pyramid. He came out white as a ghost and noticeably shaken. When questioned, he refused to answer and demanded that it never be mentioned again. He would never tell what he saw, and near his death, when asked what he saw that day, he refused to tell, saying “There’s no point. You would never believe me.” I would have believed him. Who would believe that he appeared in this painting and is bowing his head….Who? I hope you are feeling a little better, I have been thinking about you. I have been painting like there’s no tomorrow…it’s 2.49am and I’m still writing. Wishing you a wonderful weekend!Sx

fabulous, Sophie. I’m torn over whether to feature this or Nefertiti’s eye – but I think this one wins :)
