Daan van Kampenhout – Writer of Images of the Soul wrote…..The term shamanism describes a specific form of communication with The Spirits. The images of shamanism has gradually reached almost mythical proportions in the western world, however, I do not share this peculiar and optimistic point of view. Shamanism is often used as a synonym for wisdom, truth, purity, non -violence, ecology and Spiritual harmony. I wish it was so, but my experience has taught me that the truth is not that simple. There may be individual shamans who embody a number of such qualities, but that does not mean that the shamanic culture as a whole embodies them too. For me shamanism is not a dream of a golden past; it is a Spiritual Language….......
