The Wanderer
Basho, pseudonym of Matsuo Munefusa (1644-94), Japanese poet, was considered the finest writer of Japanese Haiku during the formative years of the genre. Born into a samurai family prominent among nobility, Basho rejected that world and became a wanderer, studying Zen, history, and classical Chinese poetry, living in blissful poverty under a modest patronage and from donations by his many students. From 1667 he lived in Edo (now Tokyo), where he began to compose Haiku.

I love this….in what medium do you paint?
Sophie Shapiro replied
For this painting Peter I used acrylics, ink, pigment and inks. With silver leaf. I do however use wax and enamels in various works. Thank you for your wonderful comment. I really appreciate it! Wishing you a good week!Sx

Your work is very inspiring and familiar…..

Kalliope thank you for your comment. My work may look familiar because I have another site on RB called Unseen – where I do painting for individual people. It is a small healing group and we are known as The Sparrows. Do have a look at it, if you have time.Sx
