Chopin's Love
Chopin was born is Poland and regarded as one of Poland’s most famous composers. Although he left to live in Paris in 1891 his passion for this beautiful country never died. His music reflects his great love of the country. It was he wish to have his heart removed after his death and for it to be buried in Poland. It was sealed within a pillar of the Holy Cross Church (Kościół Świętego Krzyża) on Krakowskie Przedmieście, beneath an inscription from Matthew VI:21:
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Chopin’s heart has remained there—except for a period during World War II, when it was removed for safekeeping—within the church that was rebuilt after its virtual destruction in World War II.
This is dedicated to both Chopin and the land I love.

Linda, I am so pleased to be painting again! I feel very energised by this painting and Chopin always makes me think of my parents, their love of Poland and the traditions that I was brought up with. It also makes me feel very nostalgic and I have a longing to go and work in the fields, as I did when I was a child. Thank you for your wonderful comment! I hope you have a wonderful day! What a great narrative to this stormer of an image. This speaks volumes of your love for your Home Country, Chopin, his music, his heart, just where it should be. I have fond memories of Poland and it’s warm peoples.
Sophie Shapiro replied
Jenny your words make me realise that histories are highly sensitive to thought. They will record the pertinent and ignore the unimportant; collating experiences and offer a healing conclusion. Thank you for this feedback, which has an important message for me. I am very touched by this and shall treasure your words! I am so glad that you have been to Poland and enjoyed the people’s hospitality!!! I send you a little something, as a token…...............................
