This is really fine work Sophie! I like how it has a glow from within. I see a portrait, but from the chin to almost elbows… A person with folded arms, in a self hug. Beautiful!

Anthony, thank you for your comment. I hope you are well? Thinking of you!Sx

Wow, there is a dog’s head right in the middle. What’s it mean? Has my angel come as a Doberman? As I actually was a dog in my past life it would make sense. Your pictures amaze me. It’s all there for everybody to take from them what they need. Awesome work lady!

  • Sophie Shapiro replied

Thank you Dear Sir! I hope you are well and happy? Past lives are something that interest me greatly and I have actually being doing a few. I can’t tell you if you were a dog because I don’t have your photograph which I would need to study. Thank you for your wonderful comment! Good to see you! My very best wishes!Sx

Sophie, your beautiful glowing fire of an image ‘inflames fantasy’. It reminds me of the warm comforting glow of an open fire and the warmth of my grandmother’s arms as we look into the fire and tell stories of what we see in the flames. Thanks for the memories. Beautiful as usual! Cheers Helen xoxo

  • Sophie Shapiro replied

Oh! Helen your comment is wonderful and as I went to look at this painting again, I could see what you described. I too had a wonderful grandmother with whom I shared lots of wonderful stories and miss her greatly. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and I in turn was able to have a few of my own! I hope you are well? Sending you my very best wishes!Sx

I love the movement and textures in this. My reason was telling me it was the bark of a tree, but it is also so full of fantasy and imagination. beautiful to look and and wonderful to ponder

  • Sophie Shapiro replied

John, that is fabulous idea!!!! Thank you for that suggestion! Your new work is fantastic and you write so very well! I hope this note finds you well and happy? My very best wishes!Sx

Where shall you seek beauty, and how shall you find her unless she herself be your way and your guide?
And how shall you speak of her except she be the weaver of your speech?

  • Sophie Shapiro replied

Ronald, I was very touched by your comment. As I read your words a haunting effect came over me. I was drawn to Michaelangelo, not his paintings but this writings. I have a wonderful book of his poetry and have been trying to find it. As soon as I do I shall reply in more detail. Thank you for your positive feedback! I really appreciate it!Sx
