A Poem - Forget Me Not
A Poem - Forget Me Not belongs to the following groups:
All Things Poetic, Artistic, PhilosophicalI watch the snowflakes kiss the windowpane,
Reflecting their lithe dance on your pale skin,
I feel a yearning as old as time as you relax against my side,
Your gentle eyelids flutter and betray the pulse of your dreaming.
The clock pumps out its rhythm and i am suddenly irate,
I used to like that sound, like heartbeats and melodies,
Now it sounds more like a funeral march,
Cat-like time stalks us, waiting to pounce unexpectedly,
I want to shake you and whisper urgently to you.
Instead i gaze at you intently, willing you to wake,
Sunlight struggles through the stain glass bluebird,
Dappled blue light dances across your chest,
I gaze into the blue world and watch the forget-me-nots struggle in the snow,
Please my love i must leave you now but when i too am sleeping;
FORGET ME NOT

This is wonderful. That last line sent shivers down my spine and into my toes. Thanks. By the way how could one attach a pic to jounal entries? I tried but it was huge.

Simply stunning Shannyn – moved me to tears because I think we’ve all been there if we’ve been lucky. Poetry at its best!
