Working full time, I am pursuing my art career in my spare time. I work with acrylics on stretched canvas.
I am heavily inspired by the ‘Gaia’ theory proposed by James Lovelock, in which it is proposed that the biosphere is interconnected and thus acts as a living system. My paintings depict ‘real’ topics but through a ‘Gaian’ lens, whereby cars, buildings, trees and rivers are likened to various cells and organs of a living organism. My hope is to show hidden connections and for the viewer to realise that Man and Nature are one.
I’m inspired by many artists, particularly those that use a predominantly aerial perspective in their landscapes, as I do. James Woseley, Robert Juniper and traditional Aboriginal artists are great inspiration.
Thanks for checking out my work!
