What a gret photo – you wouldn’t want to stand on one of these!! Your portfolio of snake/animal shots is quite impressive.
Thanks for adding this to the Brisbane Group.

I did a search for red bellied black snakes as my friend was bitten by one yesterday and is in hospital. I know she will really appreciate the link to this photo when she gets out!

  • Shannon Plummer replied

Wow, I hope she’s feeling better soon. They are beautiful creatures and clearly demand respect. I hope your friend can still appreciate them for what they are. Best wishes to her.

She was bitten on Friday lunchtime and they may let her out tomorrow (Monday) after copious amounts of fluid, painkillers but thankfully, no antiveneme. She has been so sick poor thing, her ankle hasd big punture marks in it and is very swollen and painful. She really doesn’t reccommend it to anyone!

  • Shannon Plummer replied

Poor thing! Thanks for buying it as a card (I’m guessing it was you) I’m sure she’ll see the humour in it . . . eventually!

  • jensw61

Yes it was me…think I’ll wait a week!!! My friend was discharged today, on crutches as her ankle is still so swollen, with strict instructions to stay away from snakes!

  • Shannon Plummer replied

Haha, well I’m glad she’s home now and I hope she likes the card.

Nice capture shannon, great color and timing with the Jacobson organ (the flickering tongue) They do deserve respect and need to be treated accordingly. I’m glad your friend is better.
