Light Steps Back Through

From our fragile beginnings, into our chamber’s glowing air.
Brilliant butterflies rise, when touched by your benevolent care.
To breathe the healing sun turned smoothly to mother-of-pearl,
pieces of this iridescent writhing doth the sky unfurl;
an opaline glimmer of cliffs of our hearts flying high,
toward each other so ever so….ever so.

Shhhhhh, for there among the gleaming,
ride the children of the sky,
with swift Mercurial wings now forever beating on high.
Lengths that traverse upon unexplored valleys yet to know.
That like the desires of our one enamored soul;
it seems I am at dusk, so incredibly rapt within your whole,
and longing for another sunrise to gently show.

When we unlatch the windows and welcome in the newborn day,
bliss will explode from our souls and gently bathe,
many moments ahead so filled with each other’s bliss,
I writhe as I write and so long to kiss;
unsealing this new wakeful land that bears your hand.

Centuries along I loved thee when,
before I ever knew your face or name;
and so in a soothing voice, so in that dancing flame.
Angels do affect us oft, and worshipped so to be.
Still when, to where thou were, I came,
a tragic and glorious being did I see.
