I never try to understand, nor justify, what I am about to attempt as I sit before my canvas. Nor do I formulate, plan, or construct my art. That takes the wind out of every sail that I’ve ever dreamt of unfurling. I am essentially an artist of the kind of composition that communicates a strive towards a sense of freedom, smooth tranquillity, and who endeavors to grasp the opaque notion of coveted privacy. I have little to no patience for drama, preferring to delve into the deeply felt relationships with like-minds.
I’m not interested in the study of the relationship of color and form, or line and shade, or anything else structured. I despise walls…limits, coloring within the lines, and anything formal in the way of instruction. This makes no sense to me, for you are then somewhat forced to learn from another’s preconceived notions, perspectives, and emotions. To me, a kind word about my work is worth far more than a letter grade.
I’m interested only in expressing the most basic of human emotions: lust, curiosity, ecstasy, anger, love, fear, agony, and bliss. It enables me to find myself and lose myself all at the same time; the affirmation, the blessing, and the divinity of my existence.
I am completely self-taught, and have never taken traditional art classes, which is my way of learning most anything frankly; whether it be painting, photography or writing. My influences come from nature, weather, music, and people.
Enjoy your visit here in my little patch of this world. Please do not hesitate to comment on my artwork. I appreciate feedback and always welcome a new friend.
