So much can and should be said about women.

Every woman in the world must make a difference.

We must continue to educate ourselves/everyday we must set a new challenge.

Women are the backbone of the family/we also have a right to an education/a right to dignity.

I have always struggled with the wonder of how women juggle their busy lives and not sure what the answer is.

We will always be responsible for bringing children into the world/be always concerned but even with babe in arms and out of the work force /whatever age/we have an important role to play/we are an integral cog in the wheel/we must continue to make a difference…...read ….read/educate online/involve ourselves in community/council/politics/ business. Gaining knowledge is like climbing Fuji san….....start out with nothing but hopes and dreams in your heart /half way up the mountain you will look back and think how did I ever do this/but every step of learning is a mind growing more powerful. Then the responsiblity is to use this power/knowledge gained in a way to benefit our world.

Nothing is impossible and everything possible if we work together.

When I create I have no one in mind particularly so please do not take offence. It is just that everywhere I go I meet amazing women and always my mind is filled with questions.

    Mohsen Bayramn...

I’m so sorry cuz I have only 30 mins till to going to my new class!

Your idea was fantastic, but anyway!!

  • shanghaiwu

    shanghaiwu

no …not quite/ this woman was beautiful.I saw it in her eyes….

  • Mohsen Bayramnejad

    Mohsen Bayramn...

yes she is beautiful… but the symbol?

  • shanghaiwu

    shanghaiwu

    the symbol..

I guess i am watching her/respecting/thinking wondering at her dancing eyes/knowing power lies below…........

I have many questions to ask you but….......

  • Mohsen Bayramnejad

    Mohsen Bayramn...

To ask me? so, seems you know everything…
It’s much better now… I mean about what I’m thinking here. “knowing power lies below” is very thoughtful… where you have captured that shot?

  • shanghaiwu

in melbourne/her husband and family with her/ that day many questions rolled off my tongue and her husband just smiled and they let me chatter on. I expected no answers but it was ok and they let me take many photographs
next time i will tell you about a woman i met in london/i have to go!.sorry

  • Mohsen Bayramnejad

    Mohsen Bayramn...

no I have 10mins again! what I’m thinking is she and her family are the religious minorities. some kinda muslim but a little harder at it’s point. you can see these people in Iraq – saudi – and in turkaman. but I’m just thinking… I just see the symbol here. we havent such a veil in our beside, but I surely respect to their belief.

hope to see more photographs about them. you’ve said you have take so many photographs!

    • I agree the internet will make us close, but there is some kinda sunna and traditions wrong or not that still alive!
our universe will turn, just because of these symbols…
  • shanghaiwu

    shanghaiwu

I understand/there is much reading on the internet about sunna/traditions and I will try and understand….words that spring to mind….....the way/course/destiny/our universe will turn but not through fear.

  • Mohsen Bayramnejad

    Mohsen Bayramn...

Yes, I love this saying, not through fear. but it’s like a paradox for me, and of course will be for you!
just a likeness: the tradition like Hijab or Veil; some of the things and rules are completely distorded. it’s so sad that some people do distort this kinds religious rules just for their direct..
I just say it for a religious example. there are more other thing that will be similar to the topic: the fear-symbols. !!

  • shanghaiwu

    shanghaiwu

This fear is real….not in my mind but I see this…...the world situation is one I am far from admiring. I actually despise what one man can do to another and therefore I think it is time women took a more dominant role.

  • shanghaiwu

    shanghaiwu

I am assuming you are at University. What is the ratio of men to women?

  • Mohsen Bayramnejad

    Mohsen Bayramn...

Yes. It’s true that I’m still a student, but for now, I’m working as a teacher of fine-arts in our classes. the ratio of men to women? it’s not so hard my dear…
Yes. youre right. the power for men is more than to women, but not that much!! if anybody wants something, I mean really wants, then, she or he, can really reach to it… Luckily or unfortunateily, we are living in the 21th century….
and in my university, unfortunatily there is no woman-teacher, but they are working in other universities. and in my classes, the ratio is completely equal. as I told you in my bubble-mail, I’m the friend of each of my students…. girls and boys!!

  • shanghaiwu

    shanghaiwu

Ok handsome….....thanks for answering that question and in such detail.
Does it concern you that within any religious group there are fanatical elements?

  • shanghaiwu

    shanghaiwu

You are asking how old am I?

  • Mohsen Bayramnejad

    Mohsen Bayramn...

    Thank you sweet-heart!
YES, it is concern me. it’s one of the things that I really hate… they are funny in my opinion and they just PLAY more than a very sad game. I have to respect them as a human, but I cant agree with their beliefs…. you know, I’m not a very religionist man. I just believe in God and I know there are so many cosmic things.

  • Mohsen Bayramnejad

I love hot this artwork sparked a complete discussion. I’m on your side. I do believe that women need to have more rolls in our society, to say a “dominant” or not is a different question. Women should be treated equally and with respect. For Westerners it is easy to say these things pointing the finger towards women in vails or burkas, obeying the men and being treated as second-class citizens. However you have to remember that for many it’s their choice and the way they were brought up. Middle Eastern traditions, religious bring up, are not things that can be thrown completely. In any case you’re artwork creates a very strong fish rule that can help people learn their differences and strive for more equal society.

within religion no-one should suffer whatever country in which you reside…......china?Ireland?Australia?. and it goes on…..........thoughtout history nothing has changed..we must ask ourselves.WHY!?
no one should be intimidated by another/threatened into submission

You are amazing and your feminist aesthetics are politically phenomenal. I commend you my Sista Comrade. Keep on struggling through resistance against the Cog machinery. Monkey wrenches such as this particular piece would be one of our non-violent propaganda. THE TIME TO WAKE UP IS NOW. THE REVOLUTION HAS ARRIVED VIA THE INTERNATIONAL FRONT OF HUMANITY. WE MUST KEEP PUSHING ON FOR THE SUN DOESN’T RAIN ALL THE TIME, AND, THERE’D BE SOME HEARTACHES AND PAINS. EDUCATION+RE-EDUCATION= DE-EDUCATION. JUST REMEMBER THIS AS WE STRUGGLE FOR A BETTER WORLD COMMUNITY, A PEOPLE UNITED—WILL NEVER BE DIVIDED!!!

Build BRILLIANT schools in the outback for our aboriginal children/have aboriginal teachers trained by the time the buildings are finished/their art will flourish/their languages will continue….an aboriginal grandmother’s dreamtime then becomes reality.
Sorry I know i have deviated in thought….......what is happening in australia must STOP….....aboriginal women must rise up /be strong ….Women everywhere must continue to educate themselves and make sure the same happens for their children.

  • BLYTHPHOTO

    BLYTHPHOTO

I get hot under the collar discussing women’s rights. It is a subject that should never have needed to arise in the first place. Although I am a man, I feel ashamed at the way men have trodden on women over the centuries. As a Christian, I am disgusted by the way so many (so-called) Christians use their faith to denigrate women. Don’t even mention Islam’s attitude to women. Historically, there have been times when women were treated as equals. In ancient Britain, women fought and worked alongside men.

I myself grew up in a home where my father believed that a woman’s place was in the kitchen. When I married, my dad took my wife to the market place in Blyth to show her where the book stall was. He left her by the Mills and Boon romances, with the remark that, “here are the women’s books.” That was when his education began and he was told kindly but firmly that she actually preferred Sartre, Huxley, Orwell, etc. He looked at her in the way one would look at a performing chimp, but soon got the message and started to respect her more for her assertiveness.

Ironically (considering my upbringing) my wife now has a career and I stay at home to do the washing, ironing and hoovering and to make meals for our family. I have developed health problems over the years, which necessitated medical retirement, in case any of you think I am too lazy to work :))

you are forgiven as regards confusing the journal.Your story is probably not all that different to many others/it is time and generation influences which in most cases brings improvement for all.
Around the world it is all pretty much the same. In Japan the meaning of wife/KANAI/means belonging within 4 walls. But then for us all these are changing times…......for all of us!It is the personal effort we make that will help the rest of mankind have a better way of life.

They talk about the power of men but the power of women in society and civilisation is beyond measure! Women are the reason why we even exist! A beautiful and thought provoking piece. :)

Powerful imagery of feminine disparity, Some are strong and independent whereas others are subservient to a predominantly male culture. Beautiful!!!

In a recent study by the United Nations, empowerment and education of women has been identified as the solution to most medical problems in the developing world. To this end, weaving groups have been established to provide an environment acceptable to the local males where women can be educated and empowered to help save themselves and their families from diseases such as HIV/AIDS, Polio, and Malaria.

    Go Wu!
